Whats with the mishaps.....

Are you familiar with the saying "an error in my ways". Well there was an mishaps today that caused quite a stir on the RSWD front. Angry phone calls were made, AIM messages were passed and now there is permanent beef between the the Lurqers and RSWD. Actually this all fabrication and if you pay close attention to the The Hundreds blog then you will understand the chaos and "blogfoolery" that took place.

OK, this is Mike speaking. Umidizzle was the prior paragraph/intro. I was in definite fault here. I emailed Big Bobby saying I really liked the photo without any details as to where the photo came from. It was one of my good friends ALFRED (www.thelurqers.com) who took the photo and edited it to panoramic view. It's a good photo by far I thought so I wanted Bobby to check it out. I didn't know it would be posted. But, I'm sure glad he liked the photo.

One of the first post for RSWD was artwork for the next Devin the Dude album. The amazing man himself has done a little more for those who respect fans of the Dude, are you ready??

Oldie but goody.....

One of The Blocks favorite visitors the man himself Dom Kennedy. This is classic because it's not a recycled verse, you probably will never hear this verse again ever.

Rah-B Nassir.....

Yesterday, RSWD was blessed with the presence of an old friend of mine. Mr. Rah-B is young a student at SMC (Santa Monica College) that has had taken quite the journey to get there. Not only growing up in the worst then worst side of LA and having to compromise some of his own moral values to simply survive; my old friend has been through the turmoil and terror. But the best part of Rah-B isn't even that he overcame all that to become a, recent, proud parent; the best part is that he has done all this in style.

Literally standing alone in a category that is somewhere in the middle of 80's baby and contemporary Los Angeles scenester. A sneakerhead by trait and a vintage shopper by skill. He proves his ability to put put-togethers together nicely. While in our midst at the store we did our usual rundown of everything from movies, music, books, to shoes and clothing. I'm happy to say that he supports Swagger Like Us and believes in the Iceberg come back, leaving me right again.

Peace,

They should have a show.

The day you meet these 2 young fellows is the day you'll pee in your pants. Everyone and their moms knows who Alex Hundreds is. Those of you who know Thomas (Manager at Diamond), know that he's one of the happiest dudes alive on this planet.

When they're together it's like watching a reality TV show. Both good guys and both are straight comedy. Alex has an "I don't give a shit" attitude , where as Thomas is a "I love life, be my friend" type of dude.

Cruise down to RSWD and you'll see what I'm talking about. Till then, peace.

Na-kel Allah

Undoubtably so, Na-kel is probably one of the most colorful characters I've met so far on this block. Beside Gomez and Thomas, Na-kel not only brings out some insane laughter , but he's pretty ill on the skateboard. Today was a pretty busy Sunday. I know over at the 5th Umi was slightly dying of boredom. But, what can  you do?
Na-kel was with Pat and I the whole entire day. I bought him a drink and food, he even ate all my candy. It was chill because he entertains for a good amount of time, not only in dancing, but whatever words come out of his mouth is pretty hilarious for him only being 14 years young.

Besides Na-kel we're definitely getting the rest of the fall drop ready this thursday the 28th of August. While everyone else is at MAGIC, we're over here handling all the goods for you to purchase. KEEP YOUR EYE OUT on The Hundreds blog. I'm certain Bobby will post a little something.

What a job this is.....

If you have ever walked into RSWD and paid close attention the music that is playing you will notice that there is a wide range in genres that we support. From the RSWD greats like The Smiths and Kurupt to the newcomers such as Kid CuDi and the The Virgins. Then there are artist are staples in our daily rotation. Journey, Kanye, Al Green, Tokyo Police Club (the latest to be added to the routine) and Devin the Dude.

Devin, if you are not familiar, has been held as an underground artist for a while now but is internationally known. Since his self titled debut in 1998 (a cover which may still be the best CD cover ever) he has blessed marijuana heads across the globe with the finest melodic  atmospherics while flying high. Songs like "Lacville 79", and "Doobie Ashtray" speak volumes to the genuine pothead. Then there are those like "Boo Boo' n",  "Cutcha Up", and She Used to be"  that speak to even the everyday family man. He even does song for his fellow peers in songs like "What A Job".  Listening to a Devin the Dude CD can take you places, it helps you tune out everyday worries, he is the mans man subconscious.

Today I give the cover of his newest piece of work, Landing Gear, which promises to be excellent in taste based off his track record alone.  Salute the greats.

Peace

TH RSWD....

In the absence of an available space on the home page of our web residence, we have decided to step into another avenue and take it grunge, so to speak, creating our own page. Welcome to the home of the RSWD family. We will be posting all the random nonsense that happens on the home-front not to mention any other crazy foolishness that we may wander our way into during the day or even during the night. It could be a wild ride so I would recommend staying posted on us keeping you posted with the daily RSWD post. Not to mention you can run into some very extensive word-play. See you soon.
Peace.
